After completing this topic, you will be able to; describe the Bill of Materials structure and describe when to use the different types of Bills of Materials.
- A production bill of materials is a list of items and (possibly) resources that are consumed in the production process.
- A routed production BOM is composed of sequenced process stages.
- A BOM may have several levels; in this case, one or more of the item components is also a BOM.
- The Bill of Materials Component Management window allows you to make changes to multiple BOMs simultaneously.
- In addition to the production BOM, there are three other types of bills of materials that are available for use in marketing documents: sales, assembly, and template BOMs.
